夏洛特 Christian 强度 and 调节 is a year round, sport specific program that emphasizes developing the student-athlete as a whole person. The program emphasizes movement and technique development including proper mobility and function, 最大强度, 权力, 肥大, 速度, agility and injury prevention. The four-year athlete development model has proven successful at developing strong, 强大的, resilient athletes that excel in high school and at the collegiate level.

Coach Lewis joined CCS in 2021. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at 夏洛特 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in public health. Coach Lewis is a Certified 强度 and 调节 Specialist (CSCS) from the National 强度 and 调节 Association (NSCA) and a Performance Specialist through EXOS (XPS). Coach Lewis has trained athletes and teams at all levels in the private sector at Iron Tribe Fitness and EXOS.

Coach Kaplan joined CCS in 2019. She is the first female strength and conditioning coach in the school’s history. Coach Kaplan was a collegiate lacrosse player all four years at Berry College. She graduated from Berry College with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and went on to receive a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Georgia. She is a Certified 强度 and 调节 Specialist (CSCS) through the National 强度 and 调节 Association (NSCA). During her master’s program in Athens, Coach Kaplan worked with middle and high school athletes, both in the school setting (Athens Academy) and within the private sector (SPARC Athens). 





The 夏洛特 Christian 强度 and 调节 Internship Program is designed for motivated exercise students who desire to gain hands-on experience in the strength and conditioning field at the high school level. The program is a 15-week program designed to help young strength and conditioning coaches to develop proficiency and confidence in designing and implementing periodized strength and conditioning 项目. The program includes taking educational concepts and practically implementing them into a real life strength and conditioning environment. In this program interns will be exposed to male and female student-athletes from 14-18 years old, with a variety of skills and experience.

Internship Requirements:

  • Graduating with a degree in Exercise Science or a similar field
  • Have a desire to be a strength and conditioning coach at the high school or collegiate level
  • Be organized, motivated and hardworking
  • Have a desire to learn and grow as a strength and conditioning coach
  • Have a heart for working with and developing young men and women

Interning with 夏洛特 Christian 强度 and 调节 allowed me the opportunity to acquire more knowledge and practical experience in the strength and conditioning aspect of fitness. Working alongside the staff, I was able to demonstrate my understanding of Exercise Physiology, increase my confidence in creating periodized training 项目, acquire the skills necessary to teach and correct exercise techniques, and gain experience in the communication and motivation of large teams of student-athletes. I am leaving this opportunity with an increased knowledge in this career path and a heightened amount of confidence in my abilities.”
